Peak District
The Peak District national
park has been my home for over twenty-five years, and whether in the
heights of Summer or the depths of Winter, it is one of the most beautiful
landscapes in the world. See

Montréal
The second-largest French-speaking
city in the world, home to some 1.6 million people, I visited Montréal
in July 2006. A lovely city with excellent people and some stunning
architecture, my favourite example being Le Stade Olympique.

Cabo Verde Islands
In February 2007 I visited
these Islands - off the coast of Senegal - bristling with building work
for new tourist complexes. Away from the hotels, the lunar landscape
and simple life for the laid-back people was brought home to me.

Prague
This beautiful city in central
Europe was my destination in September 2007. The shadows of Communist
oppression and the horrendous floods of 2002 are still felt in Prague,
but the city has some amazing architecture and is undergoing a clean-up
program to make the 'city of a hundred spires' as wonderful as
its people. See
